The Delhi government will conduct Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 on December 4 at sampled government and private schools. The Sarvekshan will involve students from Classes 3, 6, and 9.

The survey is a nationwide initiative that aims to comprehensively analyse India’s educational progress in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan will be conducted in the selection of schools, encompassing government, government-aided, Central, and private institutions, the Directorate of Education (DoE) said in a circular.

The Department of Education (DoE) has issued specific guidelines for school heads to ensure that there is smooth implementation of the survey.

Schools are required to remain open on December 4, with no other activities scheduled for that day. Evening schools included in the sample must ensure the attendance of all students in the selected grades, along with their respective teachers and school heads during the morning shift.

Teachers of the selected students must complete the teacher questionnaire, and the school head must fill out the school questionnaire.

A team comprising an observer and a field investigator will arrive at the school before the morning assembly to oversee the survey process.

Schools must provide a large, well-lit room on the ground floor with adequate seating for 30 students. This room should ensure proper ventilation, sanitation, and access to drinking water, as stated in the circular.

The attendance register for the selected section must be available to the field investigator, and all necessary support and resources should be provided to facilitate the smooth execution of the survey. The use of blue or black ballpoint pens is mandatory for the survey, as noted by the DoE in the circular.

At the end of the assessment, all survey materials, including OMR sheets and question booklets, must be returned to the investigator and observer.

For schools with children who have special needs, additional measures will be implemented, such as providing an extra 30 minutes to complete the test and arranging for a scribe if needed. The scribe’s assistance must be available for the entire duration of the assessment.
