The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) special round 1 2023 results were released on Tuesday. This is a special round to fill the vacant seats in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other Government-funded Technical Institutes (GIFTs). The aspirants can check the result at csab.nic.in.
The selected candidates will get five options – freeze, slide, float, surrender and withdraw during the special counselling 2023. Those opting for ‘freeze’ will mean that they have accepted the allotted programme. The ‘Slide’ option is for those candidates who wish to choose a better programme/branch provided there is a vacancy available in the allotted institute in the CSAB special round 2.
Candidates choosing the ‘freeze’ option agree to the allotted programme and college, however, need to know they can be allotted a different programme and also a different institute in subsequent rounds. In case a candidate wishes to select ‘surrender’ option, he/ she will not get the allotted seat. However, they will be eligible for the CSAB special round 2. The students choosing ‘withdraw’ option agree to surrender the allotted seat and will not be eligible for CSAB special round 2.
The candidates can exercise the ‘surrender’ and withdraw option till 3 pm on August 12. Those who are not allotted seats can use the ‘exit’ option to opt out from the CSAB counselling process.
The selected applicants will have to report online, pay the admission fee, and upload relevant documents between August 8 and 12.
The candidates will have to respond to any queries raised by the institute before 5 PM on August 12. The candidates will have to report at the allotted colleges from August 14 to August 21.
The seat allotment result of CSAB special round 3 will be declared on August 13.
