
CBSE Class 12th Economics Paper Analysis: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today conducted the Economics exam for Class 12. The teachers said the difficulty level of the exam was moderate and it was solvable within a span of three hours.
As per Sunita Dey, PGT Economics at Modern English School, Guwahati said that the level of Economics paper was moderate. “It was a perfect mix of analysis, application and memory-based questions. The paper gave students a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding and application skills. The exam pattern and difficulty level were similar to that of the CBSE sample paper. Case-based and picture-based questions made it comfortable for students to answer,” said she.
Neha Gulati, PGT Economics at DPS Indirapuram, New Delhi said, “The Economics paper was moderate on the difficulty level, few questions were quite direct whereas few were comprehensive and application based. The question paper was as per the syllabus and in accordance with the CBSE sample paper. Overall, it was an analytical paper which required a thorough knowledge of the text,” she said.
According to Achint Bajpai, PGT, Economics, DPS Raj Nagar Extension, Delhi, the CBSE Class 12 Economics question paper was evenly balanced between application-based, current affairs, macro and Indian economics-based questions. “The numericals were fairly easy to calculate and database questions were easy to interpret. Moreover, the case study based questions were well within Class 12 syllabi and students found it comfortable to answer. Both section A (macro economics) and section B (Indian economic development) were well-balanced on all counts. This question paper can be easily handled within a span of three hours,” he said.
The duration of the Economics paper was three hours. The question paper was for 80 marks and with internal choices.
“The direct questions were quite easy to answer. The competency-based questions were average. Students were able to attempt the paper in time. The paper pattern was similar to the CBSE sample paper for the session 2022-23,”said Anupam Agnihotri, teacher at Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad
Jyothi Menon, Head of School of Ekya School ITPL, Bengaluru said that the Economics paper this year was challenging but stimulating as well. The MCQ’s in particular were time consuming and required a lot of time for completion. Many students struggled to complete the paper on time.
Prerna Pandey, a Class 12 student from KV SGPGI, Lucknow said, “I received set number one and my set was simple. The numericals were easy and anyone who would have studied and come could have solved the paper. There were 34 questions in total which were divided into two sections (macro economics and Indian economic development). Macro economics had more number of easy questions,” said she.
