
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the results for the 71st prelims. Aspirants who registered and appeared for the exam can check the results PDF from the official website–bpsc.bihar.gov.in. A total of 4,71,012 candidates had applied for this examination, out of which 3,16,762 candidates appeared in the examination. The exam was conducted on September 13, and 912 examination centres were located in 37 districts of the state.
For the Integrated 71st Combined (Preliminary) Examination, a total of 13,368 candidates were successful, and for the Preliminary Examination for the post of Financial Administrative Officer, 893 candidates were successful.
Thus, a consolidated total of 14,261 candidates have been declared successful in the preliminary examination, which will now move to the mains, that is written stage. Here’s a breakdown of the key positions:

Even before the exam was held, there were rumours on social media that the exam would be postponed.
Later, in a press release shared on microblogging site X, the Commission reaffirmed that the BPSC Prelims will be held on September 13 and called out coaching institutes, social media handles that are responsible for spreading rumours on the exam postponement. The recruitment drive, which was earlier notified for 1,250 posts across various departments, was later expanded to 1,264 vacancies following the addition of 14 posts for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Additionally, on the day of the exam, several examination centres experienced technical difficulties in capturing biometric data, prompting concerns among candidates about the validity of their attendance and potential impact on eligibility. In response, BPSC confirmed that manual attendance records, including signatures on duplicate admit cards, will be accepted as legitimate proof of presence.
