J&K police seize 30kg heroin, two from Punjab apprehended

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday apprehended two people and claimed to have seized 30 kilogram heroin from them in Ramban district.

Pointing out that the apprehended persons hailed from Punjab, police officials said the seized narcotics was allegedly being smuggled on an Innova from the Line of Control in North Kashmir. The vehicle was on way to Punjab and was intercepted at Banihal, they said.

The officials added the narcotics was seized during checking and sources said the heroin packets had Afghan marking. Sources added the possible links of arrested persons with Pakistan-based terror organisations are being investigated.
