BJP state president C R Paatil said on Friday that it is imperative for workers of political parties to be “dharmabhiru” (scrupulous or god-fearing) so that they don’t indulge in immoral acts and strictly stay on the path of serving the people. Paatil said so while congratulating BJP MP Mohan Kundariya for organising a Ram Katha recital by popular kathakar Moraridas Hariyani alias Morari Bapu, in Morbi.

Addressing the gathering at Nani Vavdi village on the outskirts of Morbi town, Paatil said: “The dharmabiruta, which is there in the society, should also be there in political workers. Therefore, when a worker belonging to any party participates in such kathas, one has to conclude that he is dharmabhiru.”

“A dharmabhiru worker of any party would think that he would pay if he goes on the path of aniti (immorality), he would pay a price and if he walks the path of niti (morality), he would be rewarded. Walking the path of niti means thinking nothing else but only of service while rendering service. Therefore, it is said that it is imperative that a (political party) worker is dharmabhiru,” he added.

“I firmly believe that our leaders, by remaining constantly busy in organising such kathas and making efforts… reflect their noble intentions,” said Paatil, adding that Kundariya had requested him to come to Morbi and participate in the katha even after the BJP president had reminded the MP that Morai Babu had organised a similar katha in Navsari recently.

Navsari is represented by Paatil in the Lok Sabha. Urging Morari Bapu to continue organising kathas, Paatil said he has come all the way to Morbi with a request.

“…In his (Morari Bapu) kathas, he gives the message of religion, he urges people to be principled and stay away from aniti (unscrupulousness) and tries to rid the society of addictions and bad social practices and he succeeds in doing so. Therefore, I request him to keep this yagna (of doing kathas) continuously.”

The nine-day katha, which is a recital of Ramcharit Manas, had begun on September 30 and will culminate on October 8.
