Police said that in an attempt to hide their identities, the gang members would remove their clothes and would wear only their undergarments while committing the crimes.

The Detention of Crime Branch of Rajkot arrested 12 men and busted a gang of thieves, known as Chaddi Banian Gang, accused in nine incidents of thefts and dacoity this year. Police said the 20-member gang are involved in 68 incidents of thefts, robberies and dacoities in the state and recovered Rs 1.31 lakh cash, some gold jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 2.39 lakh from them.

Police said the gang members would work as labourers during daytime and gang up at night to break into houses. To evade being recorded by CCTV cameras, the gang would target houses and other premises on the outskirts of the city. Police said that in an attempt to hide their identities, the gang members would remove their clothes and would wear only their undergarments while committing the crimes.
