A youngster working with an IT company in Pune was found murdered at the foot of a hill on Lohegaon Bhavdi road near Wagholi today.
Police have identified the deceased as Gaurav Suresh Uravi (age around 32 years), currently residing in Kharadi and native of Amravati.
An offence of murder was lodged in this case at the Lonikand police station. A citizen who saw the dead body informed the police control room.
Soon a police team rushed to the spot and took the body to a hospital. Police found that the deceased Gaurav was attacked with a sharp weapon, causing his death.
Senior police inspector Gajanan Pawar said, “Deceased was unmarried and resided at Kharadi with his room partners. We came to know from his room partners that he was working with an IT company in the Kharadi area, but was not a software engineer.”
“He left home around 10 pm on Friday and then did not return. A murder has been lodged. Motive behind the murder is not known yet. Investigation is on,” said Pawar.
