Police have identified the deceased as Chaitanya Umesh Shinde, a resident of Supreme Aangan Society, who had recently started working for an IT firm in Kharadi after completing his Bachelor in Computer Applications. Around 6.30 am, Shinde had started from his house on his bike to go to work, officials said.

The accident took place around 6.40 am in the Khandve Nagar area on Pune-Ahmednagar Highway. Probe suggests that the dumper truck hit Shinde’s bike after he fell down and sustained fatal injuries. The dumper driver fled from the scene after the accident.
