AS part of Fire Safety Week,the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has undertaken training programmes to upgrade the skills of its fire department staff.
The PMC is observing Fire Safety Week from April 14-20 and it was kicked off with tributes to those who lost their lives during fire fighting operations in various places in the country. As part of the training,the fire department staff were given a demonstration through a short film and lectures were also held. An exhibition of fire fighting equipment has also been organised. A cycle rally is planned from Erandwane to Shaniwarwada to create awareness about fire safety measures. A drill on using fire extinguishers will be held for citizens.The week will end with a sports and entertainment programme for the fire safety department staff,said a press note.
