THE TROOPS comprising Engineering, fire fighting and medical teams, under the aegis of the Pune headquartered Southern Command were mobilised within minutes of the aftermath of the air crash near Ahmedabad. Among their first actions, the Army troops created a breach in the Cantonment wall for swift access to the crash site, the Army has said.
“In the immediate aftermath of the air crash near Ahmedabad, troops of the Indian Army from Ahmedabad Cantonment, under the aegis of Southern Command, were mobilised within minutes to respond to the emergency.” said a press statement from Southern Command of the Indian Army.
“Demonstrating urgency and commitment, the troops effected a breach in a section of the cantonment boundary wall to facilitate swift ingress to the crash site. Rescue operations were promptly launched in close coordination with the civil administration, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and other first responders.” the release added.
“IndianArmy Columns from Golden Katar Division are supporting civil administration in conducting Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Operations post Ahmedabad Plane Crash. Engineering, fire fighting and medical teams are deployed to provide all possible assistance.” read an X post by Konark Corps of the Southern Command.
