Pune: Child killed after being hit by car, driver held

Shivaji was playing near his house and strayed onto the road when he was hit by the car. He was taken to the hospital by his family with the help of some locals. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

A boy was killed after being hit by a car in the Nehrunagar area of Pimpri Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle, Anil Bagadia, 55, has been arrested.

The deceased boy, identified as Shivaji Kakde, 7, was a resident of a locality near HA Ground in Nehrunagar. His father, Raosaheb Kakde, is a labourer.

Senior Inspector Shankar Awatade, in charge of Pimpri police station, said: “We have arrested Anil Bagadia. The driver has been booked for rash driving and causing death due to negligence.”
