An arts director, Rajesh Maruti Sapte, died by suicide in Pune following alleged harassment by an office-bearer of the Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union. Before his death, Sapte had released a video in which he had explained the reason behind his suicide.
In the video, Sapte shared details about the harassment meted out to him by an office-bearer of the Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union over financial issues. He said he has decided to die by suicide as a protest against the harassment he had faced.

Sapte had worked as an Arts director for some Marathi and Hindi films. An acquaintance of Sapte’s said that he was based in Mumbai.
Senior Police Inspector Vivek Muglikar confirmed that Sapte died by suicide in a house located in the jurisdiction of Wakad police station of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police. Muglikar said Sapte hanged himself at his residence and further investigation is on.
