As it has nearly been 15 days since the Porsche crash which killed two IT professionals — Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, their families are wary that the road to justice might come with court delays.
Gyanendra Soni, uncle of Aneesh, said, “In the beginning, we all saw how the investigation was botched. All the evidence pointed to corruption and showed that the system is in cahoots to help relieve the accused of any punishment”.
However, he thinks the police have become stricter with the investigation post finding the lapse in blood sample reports. “The case is headed in the right direction now, but our demand is that it should be fast tracked. We want a verdict as soon as possible, so the case doesn’t die with the passage of time”, said Soni.
Samarpreet Koshta, brother of Ashwini shares the same anxiety that the case will drag on. “There is not much in our hands. Only the Police can do the needful. Right now it feels like the case is being solved properly, but we don’t want it to become another of those cases, that gets date after date. It should be fast tracked. All the evidence is out now, so should be the verdict”, he said.
Koshta also demands that since new culprits are coming to the fore everyday, including the mother of the minor, the doctors, “everyone involved should be punished”, he said.
Soni said, “If the police want any person who commits a crime, be it a VIP or someone else, they can grant him bail easily, but if they want they can also bring the truth forward and give appropriate punishment”.
