To promote the use of its recently started online ticket booking for Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has made free entry to the park for children below eight years of age during the ongoing Christmas holidays in schools.
The PMC recently started the online ticket facility for Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in Katraj, to avoid queues at the park for buying tickets. The zoo is a major attraction for children and tourists. It also has a separate snake park.
The zoo is spread over a few acres and the civic body also has a paid service of battery-operated carts for those who don’ t want to walk. There is a lake adjoining the park.
“Children of the age upto eight years will be given free entry to the park till December 31 as the schools are closed due to Christmas vacation and children can enjoy their time in the park,” said Ashok Ghorpade, incharge of civic garden department.
He further said that those who want to avail the free entry facility to the zoological park will have to register their name on PMC CARE mobile application or online ticket facility on PMC website.
