Former Pune Collector Naval Kishore Ram will be the next municipal commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). He will take charge from outgoing commissioner Rajendra Bhosale on May 31, the day Bhosale retires.
In an office order, the Maharashtra government said a decision was arrived at to appoint Ram as Municipal Commissioner of PMC after he returns from deputation at the Prime Minister Office.
Ram is a 2008 batch IAS officer and was transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office on deputation in 2020 after serving as Collector of Pune from 2018 to 2020. He hails from Bihar and also served as Collector of Aurangabad and Beed in the past.
Ram played a major role in handling the Covid situation in Pune during his tenure as Collector. His work was appreciated by senior authorities and government.
