Man dupes woman of Rs 3 lakh promising pregnancy through black magic, arrested

According to the police, the lady got married in 2023 and had not been able to conceive. A friend from her village introduced her to Surawase who promised her pregnancy through black magic rituals. She was given ashes mixed with a ‘pedha’ and was made to perform various other rituals by Surawase. The accused took money from her on multiple occasions. Once she ran out of money, she gave her mangalsutra to the accused. She was also convinced to not inform her family members about these actions.

The woman’s friend who introduced her to the arrested has also been made an accused in the FIR and is absconding.

Police Inspector from Sahakar Nagar Police Station Vitthal Pawar said, “Her friend told her that he knew a man who could help her conceive through black magic rituals. She did not inform her family about this. The man did some ritual and asked her to have a pedha mixed with ashes. He also asked her to visit various temples to perform rituals. He kept taking money from her, sometimes Rs 10,000, sometimes Rs 20,000, etc. After she gave away her mangalsutra, the family asked her about it and realised what was going on. They then came and filed a complaint with us.”
