Book on Homeopathy
On December 5,Pradip K Gaikwad,president of Pune District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum released the book Homeopathy,Homeopaths and the Law written by Dr M P Arya and Dr A K Sharma that answers all the questions related to homeopathy. The book deals with legality and obligations of homeopaths hence serving the interest of the practicing homeopaths and interns by making them aware about the boundaries led by law for a homeopath. The book contains topics on medical negligence and related matters along with special mention about the central council of homeopathy and other important homeopathy institutions in India.
Datta Patil Awarded
On the occasion of Mangal Maitri Day (compassion towards all) Monk Rajratan the disciple of Dalai Lama,presented the Dhammamitra Award for the year 2009 to Datta Kohinkar Patil,a Yoga teacher on December 4 at Ambedkar Bhavan. The book Gautam Buddha and His Dharma written by Babasaheb Ambedkar was also presented to Patil on the occasion. Patil has been spreading the knowledge of Dhamma to people and he strongly believes that the world needs peace. “We all are living a stressful life and by following teachings of Buddha one can achieve peace and wisdom,” he said. He also spoke about the benefits of Vipasana meditation and asked people to practice it in order to live a balanced life.
Free screening camp
Command Hospital in support of Care India Medical Society,Kindle Light Foundation and Rotary Club of Pune organised a free screening camp for patients with prostate disorders. Team of doctors comprising of urologist,radiologist and other medical officers checked and advised the patients for further treatment of their prostatic complaints. History taking,clinical examination,ultrasonography and prostate specific antigen testing were part of the screening process.
