A team of Wanwadi police station arrested three accused from the nation’s capital, including shooter Bilal Ahmed Asadali Tyagi (34), Honey Walmiki (26) and Sagar Raj Kumar (23), all residents of Delhi.

Senior police inspector Sanjay Patange said the three accused were produced before a court today, and remanded to police custody for eight days,” said Patange. He further said that the accused Tyagi is the person who allegedly opened fire at Prateek Oswal.

Prateek’s father Madanlal Oswal (71), resident of BT Kawade road, lodged the FIR in this case. The statement said that Prateek and Madanlal were on their way home on a two-wheeler with a bag containing cash and gold after closing shop in Sayyednagar area of Hadapsar on November 8. Around 9.30 pm, three men on a motorcycle intercepted them near Jaysingh Sasane Garden on BT Kawade Road and tried to snatch the bag from Prateek. When Prateek resisted, the police said, a robber opened fire at him. He sustained two bullet wounds, including one on his face. The robbers fled the spot with the bag, which had some Rs 10,000 cash and gold worth Rs 1lakh.
