City court rejects Kamal Jain’s bail application

A city court on Monday rejected the bail application of Canadian national Kamal Jain who is currently lodged in Yerawada jail.

A city court on Monday rejected the bail application of Canadian national Kamal Jain who is currently lodged in Yerawada jail.

Last Sunday,Jain had almost run over assistant sub inspector V V Jadhav in broad daylight in Pune camp and then drove with the cop precariously perched on the bonnet. Deputy commissioner of police Ravindra Sengaonkar,who was passing by,followed the car and fired six rounds that forced him to stop the car. Follwing which he was arrested by the police and produced in the court on Monday.

He was granted one-day police custody and again produced before the court on Tuesday,where he complained of uneasiness and fainted. Following which advocate Santosh Bhagwat,representing Jain,said that he is suffering from heart ailments. He requested the court to grant him permission to undergo a check-up.

Then the court ordered that Jain to be taken to Sassoon Hospital for treatment and in case if he needs further treatment,he may also go to a private hospital.
