
Pimpri Chinchwad police have booked the owner, manager of “Bombay High Raising The Bar” in Mulshi, along with four bouncers, who allegedly obstructed cops from taking legal action against the establishment for operating beyond prescribed time limits.
Assistant police inspector Prasad Gajjewar lodged the FIR in this case at the Bavdhan police station.
Police said, based on information received by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad, a police team raided the “Bombay High Raising The Bar” around 2.30 am on Sunday.
Police said as per the rules laid down by the government, the bar was supposed to close its operations by 1.30 am. But during the raid, the police found around 150 to 200 customers at the spot who were allegedly being provided food as well liquor at 2:30 am.
So when the police initiated a legal action for closing the bar, the bouncers at the spot allegedly obstructed the cops from performing their duties.
Police have seized a music system, sofa set, round tables, chairs, CCTV DVR and Hookah pots during the raid. A press release issued today stated that the police have booked the owners, manager of the bar and four bouncers under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) sections 221, 223, 3(5) and sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.”
Assistant police inspector Vijay Kumar Dhumal, the investigation officer said, “Notices have been issued to the accused persons. Further probe is on.”
