Pinnacle advanced to the next round of the Inter Corporate category of the Fireball 2010 basketball tournament organised by the Leo club of Bharati Vidyapeeth and held at the Deccan Gymkhana basketball courts.
Pinnacle boast of international players like Karna Mehta and national level players like Arjun Mehta and are firm favourites to win the tournament. Today they were up against BMC Software and were off to a sluggish start. BMC were matching them shot for shot and the first quarter ended with Pinnacle having a narrow lead. The second quarter saw them play a little better with Karna converting most of his shots. The half ended with Pinnacle leading 30-24.
The second half saw Pinnacle get going as they were more accurate with their shooting as well as they passing. Karna converted most of his shots from inside the perimeter while Arjun converted all of Karnas misses on the rebound. Pinnacle outscored their rivals 25 points to 16 in the second half and ended up winning the game 55-40. Karna top scored with 19 points while Arjun supported him well with 15 points of his own. For BMC Chaitanya Kulkarni top scored with 14 points while Tejas Saner contributed with 10 points.
