Autorickshaw driver in Pune booked for kissing, molesting 18-year-old passenger

An autorickshaw driver in Pune was booked on Thursday for allegedly molesting and kissing an 18-year-old girl, the police said, adding that he has not been arrested yet.
As per the FIR lodged by the girl, she got into the autorickshaw at around 5 pm. On the way, she said, he held her hands and touched her inappropriately. Though she resisted, he allegedly parked the autorickshaw on the side of the road and forcibly kissed her. The girl managed to get out of the autorickshaw, according to the FIR. The driver then allegedly saved a number under the name ‘Sachin’ in her phone and left the spot, she said in her complaint.

The girl then approached the police. The auto-rickshaw driver has been booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354(d) (stalking), 354 (a) (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
