The Asset Reliability and Maintenance Management (ARMM) forum will organise a two-day national conference from September 15 at Lavasa,on the state of asset maintenance across the country.

At the conference, the ARMM forum will unveil a whitepaper on “state of ARMM in India’,

The white paper, according to the forum,is based on a nationwide survey of maintenance professionals and ‘C’ class executives conducted in tandem with IMRB. The September15-16 conference aims at creating awareness on the need for organisations to stick to the best practices of asset reliability and maintenance management, the forum states.

Eminent speakers at the conference will include Prakash Bhende of Tata Motors,Ajay Kavade of Volkswagen India,Hemant P Urdhwareshe of the Institute of Quality and Reliability.

Sunil Kamerkar,Founder & Chairman,ARMM forum, said,“The Indian industry is currently losing crores of rupees due to C-level leadership turning a blind eye to the importance of plant machinery safety, reliability & maintenance. About 50 per cent of the companies in India don’t have or don’t use a maintenance work planning system. This has resulted in severe tragedies including the Bhopal gas tragedy. Keeping this in mind,we have founded the ARMM forum,to create a platform for maintenance and reliability engineers to express concerns and learn from experts.”
