The Bihar government would help the Indian Air Force (IAF) hold camps in schools to encourage students to take up tests for Agniveer Vayu. The IAF has decided to hold camps in Bihar schools in Purnia, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj districts, but the dates and places for the camps are yet to be finalised.
In a letter to district magistrates of Purnia, Kishanganj, Supaul and Araria on 25 October, Bihar additional chief secretary (education) KK Pathak said: “…IAF has been holding awareness campaigns in your districts. You are requested to provide necessary help to IAF so that maximum youth in the districts can become Agniveer Vayu. In this (campaign), you need to target students of Classes 11 and 12. You may well also direct district education officers to assist”.
The letter came after a request from IAF Wing Commander, A Pratap Reddy. An education department official said: “This could be the first phase of defence forces’ camps and similar camps could be held in other districts as well”. Purnia district magistrate Kundan Kumar said: “We are yet to receive official communication from the education department, but we have also learnt about it, and will make all necessary arrangements for IAF”.
IAF is likely to conduct Agniveer Vayu tests soon. The online objective examination would have questions on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and reasoning.
