Woman delivers baby at Dadar station

A 26-year-old woman delivered a baby girl on platform number 3 at Dadar station on Monday night, aided by a doctor from a ‘One Rupee Clinic’ set up at stations to help commuters during medical emergencies. According to Dr Rahul Ghule, founder of the One Rupee Clinics, the delivery took place at 10:17 pm aided by Dr Prajwalit and a female GRP officer. The woman, Salma Shaikh, had gone into labour at the station and locals rushed to railway officers for help.

“This is the second such delivery this year. The first happened at Ghatkopar station,” said Ghule. Officials said the baby is stable.
