Three persons were arrested Tuesday in connection with a case of kidnap and rape of a minor

Three persons were arrested Tuesday in connection with a case of kidnap and rape of a minor. Police said the victim,a 15-year-old girl from Lucknow, was allegedly raped for three days in a Chembur home.

Accused Usha Thakur (50),her son Sachin (25) and relative Neelam (40) have been remanded in police custody till August 12. The victim alleged she was kidnapped from the Lucknow railway station on August 1 and brought to Mumbai, where Sachin allegedly raped her. She managed to escape Sunday and registered a complaint at Chembur police station. The investigation was transferred to the RCF Police Station on Wednesday.

Police, however, said the victim changed her statements on several occasions. “Each time we speak to her,we get a different version of the events. On Thursday, her statement will be recorded with a magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC),” said Dilip Yadav, senior inspector.

“The accused hail from Kanpur. They might be involved in bringing young girls from Uttar Pradesh and forcing them into flesh trade in Mumbai. They are also trying to throw us off track by saying that they found the victim at the CST. We tracked the mobile phone locations of the accused to Mumbai on August 1,” he added.
