TEDxGateway will also introduce their Fellows program in India for the first time.

TEDxGateway,a TED initiative,is back in the city with its fourth edition. The platform will bring together international as well as Indian speakers to exchange ideas about their work from the field of education,business,technology,design and innovation. Yashraj Akashi,ambassador,TEDx India and Curator,TEDxGateway,said,“We passionately believe in the power of ideas to change attitudes,lives and,ultimately,the world. So we’re building a clearing house of free knowledge from inspired thinkers,and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other.”

The day-long event,which will be hosted at the National Centre for the Performing Arts at Nariman Point on December 8,will see 26 speakers such as Franz Gastler,who uses football to combat child marriage,illiteracy and human trafficking,poet and multimedia artist Jonathan Rives and photographer with the National Geographic Steve Winter,among others. Other speakers include Human Resource Development Minister Dr Shashi Tharoor,Pushpa Basnet from Nepal,who has been working to promote the rights of children living behind bars with their imprisoned parents and writer Devdutt Pattanaik who will speak on the significance of mythology in leadership and entrepreneurship.

TEDxGateway will also introduce their Fellows program in India for the first time. It gives entrepreneurs from Asia Pacific a chance to showcase their ideas to the audience through short five-minute talks. Some of the Indian Fellows this year will include Yashraj Khaitan,co-founder and CEO of Gram Power,an energy technology company,Tania Jain,a design student who experiments with design and technology and Anusha Yadav,founder of The Indian Memory Project — an online project that traces the personal history of India through pictures found in family archives.
