Socialite and social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, alias Orry, appeared before Mumbai Police on Wednesday in connection with a narcotics investigation. He was summoned last week but sought more time for his appearance stating that he was out of the city.
A police officer said, “Orry appeared before the Ghatkopar unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Wednesday, and his statement was recorded in connection with allegations made by the accused in the case.”
Mohd Sohail Shaikh, alias Lavish, who was recently deported from Dubai in connection with a narcotics case, allegedly named several celebrities, including Orry, as people who had attended his “drug parties” in the UAE.
Bollywood actor Siddhanth Kapoor, brother of actress Shraddha Kapoor, appeared before the ANC on Tuesday and got his statement recorded.
The case was registered by the ANC in 2022. So far, six people have been arrested. It was alleged that mephedrone manufactured at a Sangli factory was supplied in Mumbai by the accused.
