Mumbai: 16-year-old girl dies after falling from building terrace while taking sunset photo

The incident took place on Sunday evening. Savla, who resides on the seventh floor on Sunday went to her father, who was sitting in the society compound with other residents, asking for permission to go to the terrace to click pictures.

After her father’s approval, she went up to the terrace. A few minutes later Savla (father) heard a loud thud and looked to find his daughter lying in a pool of blood, the police said.

She was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead. Dahisar police were informed, which inspected the terrace and inquired about a few building residents.

After recording her father’s statement, it is suspected that the girl, while clicking photos, fell off the edge of the railing of the terrace. At the time of the incident there was no one around, said a police officer from the Dahisar police.

Savla was a class 10 student from a Cambridge International school. Her father is a garment merchant. She was the only child in the Savla family. Her last rituals were performed on Monday.
