The group was walking along a busy road near the wedding venue when the bus struck them from behind. While Shaikh was holding his cousin’s hand, the others walked slightly ahead. Shaikh was initially treated at Bhabha Hospital, but his family later moved him to Sion Hospital, citing inadequate care. “There was chaos at Bhabha. The doctors didn’t attend to him properly, so we decided to bring him here. But we had to wait for 40 minutes for an ambulance,” said Meharun Shaikh, his maternal aunt.

His friend Sajid, who was with Shaikh at the time of the accident, recalled the moments before the crash. “We were walking together along the roadside, but when the bus hit us, we were all separated. We only met later at the hospital,” he said.
