A flour mill owner from Bhiwandi was arrested for allegedly trying to rape a 13-year-old girl,Thane police said Friday.

A flour mill owner from Bhiwandi was arrested for allegedly trying to rape a 13-year-old girl,Thane police said Friday.

Inspector Dileep Suryavanshi said the victim often visited the mill to fetch flour to feed chickens. Accused K B Yadav (52) of Kanheri allegedly dragged her inside the mill and sexually assaulted her a few days ago. Around 7.30 pm Thursday,he again attempted to rape her,threatening to kill her if she told anyone about the incident,police said.The girl told her parents,who then approached police.

Yadav has been charged under Sections 376,506,354 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4,7 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012,police said.
