A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Oshiwara police for allegedly cheating during the Mumbai police recruitment exam, police said Saturday. The police said that the accused was caught using an electronic device during the written exams conducted to fill driver vacancies in the police department.

According to police officials, during the exams, being held at Raigad Military School in Oshiwara, the examiners grew suspicious of his behavior.

“He was constantly touching his ears because he was not getting a proper signal. He even went to the washroom in between,” an officer said.

Later, when an examiner inspected him, they discovered an electronic device with a SIM card that was connected to a Bluetooth device which was inserted deep inside his ear following which he was taken to a local police station.

A case was registered and the aspirant was arrested.
