Navjeet Singh promises that his album is meant for the dance floor

For Navjeet Singh music and dance is an integral part of Punjabi culture. “One cannot resist it. It’s a deep part of our culture and upbringing. If you’re a Punjabi,singing and dancing is in your blood,you are born with it,” says Sydney-based singer,who was in Mohali to promote his latest album Pure Energy. Produced in association with various artists,it has two tracks by Singh,27. “It is fully loaded with dance numbers and also has singers like Feroz Khan and Gurkirpal Surapuri,” says he.

The businessman has been passionate about music since childhood. “In every Punjabi household you grow up on a heavy dose of folk music,boliyan and tappe. I have been singing since I was a kid,but I entered the field of music professionally when I was 18,” says Singh,who trained with late Bhavani Shankar and Meet Malkit of the hit number Botlan Sharaab Diyan fame.

Now the artist is busy shooting for music videos for Pure Energy.
