Ludhiana dist gets Rs 545.51 cr for sewerage,Rs 350.21 cr for water supply projects,says minister

For upgradation of sewerage and water supply system in different cities,the Punjab government has approved a comprehensive plan

For upgradation of sewerage and water supply system in different cities,the Punjab government has approved a comprehensive plan. Under this plan,Rs 545.51 crore for sewerage and Rs 350.21 crore for water supply projects have been approved for Ludhiana district alone.

Stating this here on Thursday,Public Works Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that work on most of the projects had been initiated and the work on remaining projects would be commenced soon. In Ludhiana city,projects of Rs 290.26 crore for water supply and Rs 268.50 crore for sewerage were underway. At Khanna,sewerage projects worth Rs 82.20 crore and water supply projects worth Rs 14.60 lakh were going on. Similarly,at Jagraon,the work on sewerage projects worth Rs 49.68 crore and water supply projects worth Rs 7.80 crore were underway.

Dhillon said in Samrala projects worth Rs 13.03 crore for sewerage and Rs 3.39 crore for water supply were under progress whereas for Sahnehwal,Rs 54.51 crore had been approved for sewerage and Rs 14.05 crore for water supply.

He said Doraha got Rs 17.80 crore for sewerage projects and Rs 5.25 crore for water supply projects. For Payal,Rs 6.65 crore for sewerage projects and Rs 3.45 crore for water supply projects had been sanctioned. Mullanpur Dakhan had got Rs 8 crore for sewerage projects whereas Rs 2 crore had been sanctioned for water supply projects.

He said for Machiwara,Rs 18.49 crore for sewerage projects and Rs 1.31 crore for water supply projects had been sanctioned. Maloud had got Rs 9.30 crore for sewerage projects whereas Rs 2.70 crore had been sanctioned for water supply projects. Raikot had got Rs 17.35 crore for sewerage projects whereas Rs 5.40 crore had been sanctioned for water supply projects.
