The double murder of friends Surjit Singh,38,and Baldev Singh,52,of Gehlewal village,was solved on Sunday after accused Paramjit Kaur,32,confessed to her crime.
It came out that Kaur,who was the second wife of Baldev Singh,killed them with the help of her paramour Kashmiri Lal,30,by mixing potassium cyanide in liquor.
She said it was because her husband came to know about her illicit relationship that they planned to murder him and Surjit Singh died because he too consumed liquor with her husband.
The murder happened in October last year.
ADCP (Crime) Paramjit Singh Pannu said that both the accused had been arrested.
Two mutilated bodies found
Two mutilated bodies of men were found lying on railway tracks at Dholewal on Sunday morning. The Railway Police also found a blade cutter near the bodies. It is not clear if it was an accident or murder. The deceased have not been identified yet. ASI Ashok Kumar at the railway police station said the picture would be clear only after the post-mortem report came. Till then the bodies had been sent to the Civil Hospital.
