Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, seeking a date from him for the inauguration of the first phase of the Noida International Airport, Jewar, in the third week of November, officials said.
He shared detailed information on the work done so far and how airport operations can begin with the completion of the first phase of the airport, a senior official said.

Adityanath also discussed with the PM other issues, including Modi’s likely visit to Ayodhya on November 25 to attend the installation and unfurling ceremony of ‘Dharam Dhwaj’ (religious flag) atop the Ram Temple.
Earlier this week, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai had met the Prime Minister and invited him to attend the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple. The PM is believed to have given consent to participate in the event.
The Chief Minister also invited Modi for the inauguration of the National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides to be held in Lucknow from November 23 to 29.
He also handed over a report on the ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh-2047’ campaign for which 50 lakh suggestions have been received by a committee headed by the state Chief Secretary. He apprised the PM of the state government’s “key achievements” in the past eight years and about the upcoming large projects.
Earlier in the day, CM Adityanath met President Droupadi Murmu and discussed her proposed visit to Ayodhya to participate in the November 25 flag-hoisting ceremony.

Officials said the CM will stay overnight in the national capital to attend the inauguration of Yashoda Medicity project in Ghaziabad on Sunday, where President Murmu, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak will be present.
The CM conducted a site inspection of the airport in Jewar, reviewing the progress of key facilities, including the domestic terminal, security arrangements, traffic management, and the inauguration venue.
He also held a review meeting with officials of the district and police administration, Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), and representatives from the airport concessionaire, according to an official statement.
A detailed presentation was made on the project’s current status, pending works, and the roadmap for the airport’s inauguration ceremony. At the meeting, the CM termed the airport a symbol of Uttar Pradesh’s development, emphasising that quality and timeliness should remain top priorities in the construction work.

He directed the officials to ensure that every component of the project meets high standards and that no laxity is tolerated in the preparations for the opening and stressed the importance of beautification, cleanliness, and passenger convenience in and around the complex.
The CM also called for a coordinated action plan to manage traffic and ensure tight security and expedite road and metro links leading to the airport to ensure seamless access for passengers. “He also announced the establishment of two new police stations within the airport premises to strengthen law enforcement and public safety,” read the statement.
During the meeting, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited CEO Christoph Schnellmann presented updates on several technical aspects, including approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), and progress on key infrastructure components such as the sewage treatment plant, control unit, and power substation.
The CM was also briefed by airport Chief Operating Officer Kiran Jain on passenger facilities, runway readiness, and CISF-led security measures.

It comes days after the Minister of Civil Aviation had said the airport would be inaugurated on October 30.
Besides the site inspection, the CM reviewed preparations for an upcoming public rally near the airport. He instructed the administration to ensure proper lighting, sanitation, drinking water, police deployment, and crowd management so that visitors do not face inconvenience.
