UP youth kills minor for having affair with someone else, then hangs self: Police

Police said they were waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain if the victim was sexually assaulted.

Mihipurwa Circle Officer (CO) Harshita Tiwari said the police received a complaint on Sunday morning that a girl had allegedly been kidnapped by a local youth and his associates. The police were told that the accused reportedly had an affair with the girl and suspected her having friendship with another youth, the CO said.

During the search, the villagers found the girl’s body in an orchard near her house on Sunday evening. The police reached there and later found the suspect’s body hanging from a tree in another orchard nearby, Tiwari said.

The police have detained two persons for questioning, the Circle Officer said.
