The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has greenlit a state-of-the-art warehouse project by ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India), according to officials.
The UPSIDA has allocated approximately 3.15 acres of land to ALIMCO for the project, the proposed investment for which is around Rs 100 crore, said the officials.The project is expected to create at least 50 new employment opportunities, said the officials, adding, “once completed, this warehouse will be ALIMCO’s largest facility to date”. The project will facilitate the nationwide distribution of equipment, manufactured in Kanpur, to differently-abled individuals and senior citizens, said the officials.
The complex will include a limb-fitting center, ensuring beneficiaries receive high-quality and timely services, the department stated. UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Mayur Maheshwari issued the building plan approval to ALIMCO. Maheshwari said, “The construction of ALIMCO’s warehouse is a significant step in the industrial development of Uttar Pradesh. This project will not only promote investment but also strengthen the region’s logistics and supply chain, generate new employment opportunities, and ensure timely delivery of essential equipment across the country.”
UPSIDA officials will monitor the progress of this project to ensure that the construction is completed on schedule and with high quality, said sources.
