Opposition slams UP govt, questions claims: ‘Why is the future of state’s youths bleak?’

Congress state president Ajay Rai asked, “Why is the future of youths in the state dark?” Rai pointed out that question papers of several examinations had leaked in the past eight years. He questioned why farmers and labourers are in dire straits under BJP rule. Alleging that NREGA workers’ wages worth several crores are pending since December last year, Rai also claimed that the support price of sugarcane increased only three times in the past eight years.

He also questioned the government’s claim about a “corruption-free state”, citing the recent suspension of IAS officer Abhishek Prakash, alleging that there is no such department in the entire state where work is being done “without bribery or commission”.

Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra questioned the government’s “zero tolerance” claim on crime and alleged that the state has turned into a “crime state”. She also asked, “Why is the economy of the state in such bad shape?” alleging that while the Government had presented a budget of 8 lakh crores but it remains silent on the fact that the total debt of the state is nearing around 1 lakh crore.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party (SP) also targeted the state government on the issue of law and order as well as corruption. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X “Aath Saal, UP Barbad aur Sawal hi sawal”. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party’s official X handle alleged that there was “Maha Brashtachar” in UP.

Also, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Monday said that the BJP government’s eight-year tenure in the state has not fully lived up to public expectations.

She claimed that the law and order particularly had become extremely poor since the BJP came to power in the state in 2017.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Mayawati wrote, “Neither Congress, BJP, nor any other party should be allowed to change our country’s Constitution for their political gains, especially regarding reservations. BSP is fully prepared to fight against any such attempt if needed.”
