HC refuses to quash proceedings against Nandi

The Allahabad High Court on Thursday refused to quash the criminal proceedings going on against former state cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi” in the court of judicial magistrate.

ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court on Thursday refused to quash the criminal proceedings going on against former state cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi” in the court of judicial magistrate (Allahabad). The matter pertains to bouncing of a cheque.

Passing the order,a single judge bench of Justice R D Khare,however,directed the court concerned to expeditiously hear the matter without giving unnecessary adjournments. The complainant,Amar Nath Vaishya,had alleged that he had supplied cement worth Rs 1.5 lakh to Nandi,who was then a minister in the BSP government. However,the cheque issued by him was dishonoured by the bank concerned.
