CMO death: Family Welfare dept clerk under CBI scanner

A clerk of Family Welfare department has come under the scanner of CBI reportedly for his role in the conspiracy leading to murder of CMO Dr Vinod Arya.

A clerk of Family Welfare department has come under the scanner of CBI reportedly for his role in the conspiracy leading to murder of CMO Dr Vinod Arya. The clerk had earlier been interrogated by the special task force (STF) after the police had come to know about his links with the contractors having criminal background.

CBI sources said the investigating team has gone through the details of the STF interrogation report and subsequently has summoned the clerk next week for questioning. As per the details, the clerk was deputed in the tender section of the department and the call details of his mobile phone contained phone numbers of contractors having links with some BSP legislators.

The clerk,in his earlier interrogation, had told the police that he used to provide details of the tenders related to the NRHM scheme to a BSP MLA (summoned by the CBI for interrogation last week) regularly. He used to get money for providing the details and his job was to ensure the clearing of the bills of the contractors close to the MLA.

The clerk also had told the police that the MLA used to visit CMO Dr Arya and the deputy CMO Dr YS Sachan frequently at the Family Welfare department. However,he had also said, the MLA had stopped visiting the department after Dr Arya’s murder.

The case diary in Dr Arya murder case did not mention this clerk’s interrogation too. Sources said that when inquired by the CBI in this regard, the investigating officer (IO) had replied that he did not get any evidence of clerk’s role in the murder conspiracy.

But,the CBI team suspected clerk’s role in the conspiracy and he would also be quizzed to corroborate his statement given to the police earlier.
