Busy shortlisting candidates,BJP puts campaign on hold

The BJP Lao,Pradesh Bachao campaign which was to be held in all 403 Assembly constituencies from December 1 to 15,has failed to take off as party leaders are busy in finalising the first list of candidates for the Assembly elections.

The BJP Lao,Pradesh Bachao campaign which was to be held in all 403 Assembly constituencies from December 1 to 15,has failed to take off as party leaders are busy in finalising the first list of candidates for the Assembly elections. Led by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti,it was the BJPs second major campaign in the election-bound UP after its twin Jan Swabhiman Yatras in October and November.

BJP national president Nitin Gadkari launched the campaign by addressing a public meeting in Behat constituency in Saharanpur district on December 1. However,there has been little activity since then. Similar is the case with Uma Bharti-led Jal Yatra that came to a halt soon after its launch in Allahabad on December 6.
