Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday virtually addressed more than 57,000 gram pradhans and panchayat members, urging them to take an active role in shaping the Uttar Pradesh government’s long-term development plan, “Viksit UP@2047”, according to an official statement.

The hour-long interaction, organised as a mass outreach to village leaders, opened with a short film explaining the campaign and the ways citizens can submit suggestions through a QR code and the Samarth portal, the statement said.

“In achieving this goal of making India powerful in the world, Gram Panchayats and Gram Pradhans play the most important role,” the Chief Minister said addressing village representatives.

He said the state has prepared a clear roadmap to transform Uttar Pradesh by 2047 around three core themes: Economic Power, Creative Power and Life Power. Economic Power focuses on boosting agriculture, industry, investment and tourism; Creative Power aims to expand modern infrastructure and green development; and Life Power seeks to build a healthier, better educated, safer and more empowered society.

As per the statement, CM Adityanath asked gram pradhans to discuss the Viksit UP campaign at panchayat meetings and to mobilise people “ward by ward, village by village” so that local priorities feed into the state vision. He said a detailed document will be prepared on the basis of suggestions received from gram pradhans and citizens, and that this will guide policy and planning for the next 22 years.

The Chief Minister also urged panchayat heads to read aloud a letter circulated by the government at open panchayat meetings, to ensure transparency and wider public participation. To encourage responses, he said there will be recognition for outstanding ideas: three best suggestions from each district and five at the state level will be awarded.

Officials said the virtual event was intended to familiarise frontline leaders with both the aims of Viksit UP@2047 and the technical means to contribute. The Samarth portal and the QR code demonstrated during the session are intended to make it easy for villagers to send proposals and feedback directly to the state administration.

Invoking the campaign’s broader purpose, Yogi told gram pradhans they are the “true architects and frontline warriors” of the initiative and urged them to advance the journey “from Gramodaya to Rashtraodaya.” He asked them to ensure that the voices and needs of rural communities shape the state’s development priorities as Uttar Pradesh charts its course toward 2047.
