Accused in Nandi attack case clashes with undertrials in jail

Dilip Mishra,an accused in the bomb attack on former BSP minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi in July 2010,and a group of undertrials clashed inside Naini Central Jail on Thursday morning.

Dilip Mishra,an accused in the bomb attack on former BSP minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi in July 2010,and a group of undertrials clashed inside Naini Central Jail on Thursday morning. One of the undertrials was admitted in hospital with a leg fracture.

Deputy Inspector General (Prisons),Allahabad,V K Jain,said: “The information is that Dilip Mishra and another undertrial Awadhesh,besides a couple of others,were involved in a clash around 8 am. Mishra is said to have sustained injuries from sharp-edged objects in his stomach and arms. These are not serious. Awadhesh suffered a fracture in his leg. He was taken to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. A detailed inquiry will reveal the reason behind the incident.” Mishra is admitted in the jail hospital.

The bomb attack took place on July 12,2010,in which The Indian Express reporter Vijay Pratap Singh and another person were killed.
