Leader of Opposition in Assembly Suvendu Adhikari on Friday warned the TMC workers that if they gherao BJP leaders’ houses the saffron party will block the state’s ruling party MPs from entering Parliament.

Adhikari said, “See arrogance at the “egg-rice” festival. On August 5, the houses of small and big leaders of BJP will be gheraoed! Listen Abhishek, I am going to the court with a copy of the FIR against you. Fundamental rights of people are endangered in this program.”

He further said, “It is a constitutionally recognized fundamental right of people to enter and leave one’s house. If Trinamool goes to the house of a BJP leader, then we will not allow Trinamool MPs to enter Parliament. Even as the Chief Minister of Bengal cannot say that BJP leaders’ house should be besieged.”

“So many governments came but no one did anything like this. The CPM attacked and bombed processions for 34 years. But the TMC makes appeals for attacks on houses,” he added.

Congress leader Soumya Aich Roy said, “TMC said they will gherao ‘Krishi Bhavan’ on October 2. All offices will be closed that day because of Gandhiji’s birthday. That is why they chose that day.”
