Following the footsteps of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is preaching the mantra of seeking co-operation of the opposition in exercising governance,Minister for Labour Purnendu Basu invited his predecessor Anadi Sahu for a discussion on the projects that were left infinished by him.
This is the first time that a Trinamool Congress minister has invited a minister of the former Left Front Government to seek advice on various topics. I would enquire why he could not finish them (the projects). This will help me enable to pinpoint the difficulties that could come up and chalk out a strategy to tide over them, Basu said.
Anadi Sahu expressed his happiness at the being invited for the discussion. It was a nice gesture on the ministers part. But at present I am not keeping very well. But I will definitely meet him whenever I have time, responded Sahu.
To name a few,the unfinished projects of the Left Front government include insurance scheme for labourers of unorganised sectors, their pension scheme etc. As far as projects covering the unorganised sector is concerned, the Trinamool government has started holding camps on the citys streets to enroll workers for the various schemes.
Basu said that such camps would be held in the districts very soon.
