Mamata Banerjee Kolkata Rally Today: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee is scheduled to hold a march in Kolkata against the rollout of the SIR in the state.
The ruling TMC has warned that deletion of any “genuine” voters’ names from the revised electoral roll would meet with protest.
The procession is scheduled to begin around 1.30 pm.
The chief minister and his nephew Abhisehk will lead the march from Dr BR Ambedkar’s statue on Red Road and reach Jorasanko Thakurbari, the birthplace of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore where the padyatra is expected to culminate.
Traffic is expected to be affected in the central part of the city from afternoon, owing to the rally against SIR.
