Haven’t filed defamation case against prof: Arabul

Former Trinamool Congress MLA Arabul Islam Saturday denied filing any defamation suit against Bhangar College professor Debjani Dey who has accused him of assault.

Former Trinamool Congress MLA Arabul Islam Saturday denied filing any defamation suit against Bhangar College professor Debjani Dey who has accused him of assault.

“I have filed a case but it is not a defamation case. The law will take its own course and the professor would probably take a bail in a couple of days. If she doesn’t,she will face the consequences,” he said,talking to The Sunday Express. However,he declined to elaborate on why he had filed a case under bailable sections. “There is a reason why I have filed the case but why should I tell you what that is,” he said.

Professor Dey of Bhangar Mahavidyalay,however,said she had not received any letter from the advocate yet. “So far,I have only heard of the case through media.”
