Former CBI director Vijaya Rama Rao passes away in Hyderabad

K Vijaya Rama Rao, former CBI director and minister in the Telugu Desam Party government in undivided Andhra Pradesh, passed away in Hyderabad Monday. Rao, 85, was unwell and had been admitted to a private hospital. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) expressed shock at the passing away of Rama Rao.

The Telangana chief minister condoled the demise of the former CBI director and recalled the services rendered by Rama Rao as a government official and people’s representative. The chief minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family members.

KCR decided to conduct the last rites of the former minister with full State honours and directed chief secretary Santhi Kumari to make necessary arrangements in this regard.
